Honest review. We my husband and I started our journey back in June 2021. The permits came back pretty quickly and construction started beginning of august. There are always some ups and downs of construction but I think communication is key. I can honestly say that all of my questions, concerns and requests were answered, explained and completed. There are still a few pavers that are loose and a small punch out list but the foundation of our pool is solid and we are completely happy.
It was a bumpy ride, but after Staycation switched my Project Manager, things went a lot smoother. Tyler was assigned to my project about half way through the job and communication got significantly better. The process of construction sucks in general, and building a pool is no exception, but at least the communication was good that knowing where things were stalling (mostly under subs) was good for piece of mind
We signed w/Staycation Pools & Spas July 2021. The process was rough and communication w/the PM assigned to us was non existent. Towards the end of the project we were assigned PM Tyler. Things were looking better with him on board. He communicates with you on your project, he returns calls and tries his best to get you (honest) answers. Our pool just passed final inspection September 2022.
I have heard all these horror stories about building pools but super happy so far. Long way to go but great communication. Great subs that have come out. Hopefully we keep up the momentum.
Stay away from Staycation! My advice is don’t build a pool at all. But if you do, don’t hire Staycation Pools and Spas to take you on your nightmarish journey! Do we have a beautiful pool? Yes. But, was it worth 64 weeks of our lives, our sanity, and our energy? No. How it started: we did our research, looked at reviews and we were told 12 to 16 weeks for a project our size to be completed. We signed our contract in March of 2021 and construction began in May of 2021. We were so excited to finally build our dream. How it's going: fast forward to August 2022, 64 weeks of construction and we are finally done. I could write a novel about the daily headaches, arguments with Staycation and stress along the way. This company is terrible. You’ll be questioning all of your life decisions by the time they get the job completed, if it is ever completed correctly. We felt as though we had a second full time job staying on top of them to get our project done and done right. If none of this has deterred you so far, ask yourself this: why is there a support group for customers of this company? There are 88 members and not one of us happy with Staycation!
